The Northford-North Branford Women's Club, a member of the GFWC, is an all-volunteer, 501c3 nonprofit club consisting of fiery and determined women who are outspoken and vivacious and concerned about the issues that affect women and families. This is a very lively, fun-loving, and friendly group of career and family women and spry elderly activists who love to socialize, but also are serious in their desire to improve the community in which they live and to make a visible difference.
The activities chosen by the Northford-North Branford Women's Club are geared toward improving life in Northford and the surrounding areas in a variety of ways. In the past year, the club sponsored community activities including North Branford Food Pantry, The North Branford Food Pantry, Scholarships for High School Seniors, and Student Service Award Scholarships.
Fundraising activities for charity include Military Whist Card Party, Pampered Chef, Pals Socks, and Ronald McDonald House. The club also occasionally hosts guest speakers with topics that are important to today's women.
The club, which began in 1963 and became federated in 1965, is growing, with more than thirty members who meet once a month at Stanley T. Williams Community Center, Middletown Avenue, Northford. Membership is open to all women eighteen and over. New activities are planned each year, so boredom is just not an option and there is sure to be an event to please everyone. So, consider being part of a positive and fun group of vivacious women while being proactive in your community by joining the Northford-North Branford Women's Club. We'd love for you to join us!
The current Co-Presidents are Liz Boissard and Mary Ellen Collett.
